UPPAbaby Vista Reviews
What Happy Parents are saying about the UPPAbaby Vista?
I spent about a year looking for the perfect stroller, even going so far as to buy a cheapo for the first few months of my son’s life in hopes that I could eventually find something awesome. I had a full set of criteria – the stroller had to be lightweight, easy to fold (no more than 2 steps), have a large easy to access basket (for diaper bags and all my shopping), preferably would be able to remain standing when folded, do both front and rear facing, support my graco carseat, should be able to last until my child no longer needs a stroller, should be able to support a second child with add-ons, and should be rugged enough to do some minor off-roading.Ok, I know, thats a crazy list and for a while, I thought it was impossible. Everything I saw was missing a few features. I kept thinking if only I could merge several of the strollers together I’d have the perfect one. As an engineer, I’m very picky and I was really disappointed at how every company out there seemed to excel in just one or two features, while ignoring all the rest. And to be honest, most of what was out there wasn’t very well built. I was willing to spend a lot of money on a stroller, if all the features were there, but even the super high end didn’t make the grade. But then I found the vista. Needless to say, I completely love it. It is the only stroller I have ever found that fits ALL of my criteria, and does it well. We’ve had it several months now and my son loves it as much as we do. And as a bonus, it’s less expensive than your super high end strollers like the stokke or bugaboo, but in my opinion, is much better designed.
The only thing I was worried about was the weight. I had such a bad back I could hardly lift my son, and I was worried about the stroller. But one of the great features of the uppababy is that you can choose to fold it all together, or you can detach the seat and load it into your car separately from the frame. This makes it completely manageable for me.
We decided we’d go with a stroller that offered the bassinet option and the regular sit-up seat. We knew could could order the infant carseat attachment to make the frame and “snap-n-go” too. We liked the European design of the Uppa and the Bugaboo and a few others. So we went to test drive them at the baby store…
The Orbit looks cool, but $1000 seemed a bit crazy. And the Stoke looked like a barber’s chair to me, not to mention is way too expensive ($1200+?). We liked the Bugaboo, but the deciding factor was that the Bugaboo was almost impossible to break down into the folded position to get into the car. Even the salesman, who demonstrates the “ease” of folding all day long had lots of trouble trying to get it to fold.
The Uppa was much easier to collapse and has:great quality
great design
effortlessly rolls so smoothly!
ease of use
comfortable to handle and push
adjustable everything
the bassinet can also be used independently as a “moses basket” bed for when traveling
forward and rear facing seat options
comes with a rain guard and mosquito netting
has great additional sun shields attached within the canopies- perfect design
has a much larger under-basket than the other strollers
The bedding in the bassinet is easily removed and washable
*haven’t used the big seat yet, so not sure about those features
have no doubts this stroller will last through as many children as we have in the futureBut it is LARGE. Do not purchase this thinking that you can store it in a closet with your umbrellas. It takes up a good bit of space in the house, and folded in the car.
Absolutely worth it. We are very pleased with our decision!
